Finally,
the time came. Justin flew to Canada. He held the first Canada show in his
hometown, Stratford. The venue was already set up by some crews because Scooter
had told them earlier. He went to his old house to meet his grandparents and
some friends. He, for the first time after years, felt safe again.
“Hey, Man!” Ryan greeted him with a huge
smile. They did their special handshake. Chaz followed the gestures and did the
same thing.
The house was filled with Justin’s
close friends and family members. The only one missing was his best friend,
April. Justin looked all over the house to find her, but still she wasn’t
there.
“Where’s April?” asked Justin to
Ryan.
“She couldn’t come. She said she’s
not feeling well,” said Ryan. “But she wanted me to give you this.”
Ryan handed Justin the old
scrapbook. Justin remembered this particular item precisely. He traced his
fingers following the border of every design on the cover. He walked up to his
room and placed the scrapbook on the drawer beside his bed.
“Where are you?” Justin asked April
as if she could hear him.

The show started an hour ago in the
venue. Everyone was there. Mom, Dad, grandpa, grandma, Ryan, Chaz, and some
other people came. And again, April didn’t show up. Justin continued his
performance while secretly hoping his best friend would come.
Justin took a five minutes break. At
that time, April showed up among the crowd trying so hard to not get noticed by
Justin. And then, the show started again and everybody was enjoying the show.
One Less Lonely Girl was about to be
performed. Justin whispered to his dancers that there won’t be any girl on the
stool because the girl didn’t show up. He meant April. He wanted to dedicate
the song to April, his best friend. But since she didn’t show up, Justin
decided to leave the stool empty throughout the song.
“So, this time, my OLLG won’t sit on
this stool. She’s busy in her house right now, hating my guts because I guess
she thinks I’ve forgotten about her,” Justin said to everyone. “She’s my best
friend. Her name is April. We’ve been best friend ever since we were so little.
I met her when I was five. We went to the same school every year. And I guess,
now, she doesn’t want to be best friend with me anymore. I guess, she has found
her new best friend.”
The song started and Justin sang the
first part. He felt disappointed and also sad. It was like a confirmation that
somebody—somebody really special—had forgotten him.
When it was time for the OLLG to
show up, April secretly went on the stage without Justin knowing. Everybody
screamed so loud and Justin thought it was just a usual expression of excitement
from the fans. When he got down from the stairs after finishing the line, he
turned to face April, who was sitting on the stool. Justin’s face lit up and he
picked up the rose and gave it to April.
“Wait, hold on. Stop the song,
please!” Justin commanded. He moved the microphone away from his mouth and
hugged April with joy. “Where were you?”
“In my room, trying to forget you.
But I just couldn’t do it. I miss you so much, Justin,” said April returning
the hug to Justin.
“Why?” asked Justin sadly.
“I guess you’ve already found a new
best friend. And she’s also your girlfriend. So, I thought I was replaced by
her,” April confessed with teary eyes.
Justin chuckled. “You are the
stupidest yet sweetest best friend I’ve ever had. That person… I was talking
about you, April. She is you. I love you. More than just love you as my best
friend. I love you so much.”
April’s face was looking like
someone had just thrown tomato sauce at her cheeks. Red.
“You’re blushing. So cute,” Justin
hugged April tight. “I love you.”
The fans were screaming loud and
everybody awed the two on stage. Instead of continuing One Less Lonely Girl,
Justin asked for Catching Feelings to be played. The beat started and he sang
beautifully dedicated to the love of his life and his amazing best friend,
April.
