Catching Feelings (Part 2)

Posted by Unknown

Meanwhile, Justin and his mom landed on Atlanta an hour ago. His new manager picked them up at the airport and drove straight to their new condo. It was a temporary condo because the manager hadn’t bought any house for them yet. Justin was just going with the flow. He followed every instruction from the manager until he met Usher at the recording studio.
“Hey, I’m Justin! Nice to meet you!” Justin greeted Usher with a warm smile.
“Hi, buddy! Let’s go inside and we’ll talk a bit more. It’s pretty cold out here,” Usher brought Justin and his mom into the studio and sat them down. “So, are you gonna sing me a song or what?”
“Yeah, I’ll sing you a song,” Justin said confidently. He opened his mouth and the heavenly voice came out filling the room with new sensation. Usher’s position went from so laid back to a straight shape and he looked at Justin very intensely as he watched every sound Justin made.
Justin finished his three minutes of spotlight right when his new manager walked in. He was a bit shocked that Justin had already met Usher. He got nervous and re-introduced Justin to Usher.
“Scooter, I thought he was one of your nephews,” Usher claimed. “Well, we’d be glad to work with you, Justin. You sounded amazing. I love your growl and the vibration and also your improvisation. You were incredible.”
Scooter, the manager, smiled at Usher’s feedback. “This kid came from YouTube. I found him there and I flew him all the way from Canada to meet us here in US.”
“Wow! This kid is gonna be a legend,” Usher whispered to Scooter. He walked away after hugged Justin and his mom.

Weeks had passed. Everything worked out. The only problem was some radio station didn’t allow Justin to play his song because he wasn’t from Disney or Nickelodeon or anything like that. Scooter and the crew hit the hard time.
Today was Justin’s first break time after weeks of interviewing and performing live here and there. He just spent his time in front of the TV and gradually got bored. His mom had a meeting with Scooter and now he was left alone in his condo.
Justin wandered around the room and found his Canadian stuff. He looked through it and actually had a bit of joy while enjoying the memory. There was a tiny dark blue colored box that labeled ‘Best friend’. Justin knew right away it was from April. He kind of missed her.
Slowly, Justin opened the box and found a stack of pictures inside. They were all their photographic memories. There was a picture of April and Justin playing on the swing. Another picture was when April was having a birthday party and Justin messed her face with the birthday cake. The photographs made Justin’s eyes got a bit teary. He missed his best friend. A lot. Not just kind of, but a lot. He hadn’t seen her for months.
“Hey, honey. What’s wrong?” asked Pattie, Justin’s mom, as she walked in her room.
Justin looked up and gave her the sad eyes. “I miss her.”
“Who? April?” Pattie sat down with Justin and took a look at what Justin was holding.
“I miss them. I miss April, Ryan, Chaz, grandpa, grandma, Dad, and everyone,” Justin cried as he placed his head on Pattie’s shoulder.
“You’re just homesick, Justin. We’ll see them soon. I promise,” Pattie kissed Justin forehead before helping him tidy things up the way it was before. Justin smiled it away and shook all of his thought off. He then jumped into the bed and forced his mind to fall asleep.
