Catching Feelings (Part 1)

Posted by Unknown

“Hey! That’s my slice of pizza, Justin!” April cried out begging for Justin to return her slice.
“I haven’t even touched this pizza,” Justin snapped back at April who was now getting annoyed.
“You already ate half of that and you still want my part?” April asked in a high voice. That kind of voice symbolizes April’s irritated feelings.
Justin laughed and set up the slice of pizza on a plate. “Here you go, Your Highness.”
“Thank you,” April sighed in relieve and ate it with peace.
Justin joined the rest of the group who were watching the horror movie in the living room. Yeah, they were throwing a party to celebrate Justin’s success. Somebody signed him to a record label a couple weeks ago and now Justin decided to have some farewell party.
The party went on for about two more hours until everybody fell asleep in front of the TV. Justin, who wasn’t feeling sleepy yet, asked April to accompany him to the pool in the back yard.
“What’s wrong?” April asked concernedly knowing that Justin must had thought about something that bothered his mind.
“I’m not ready,” Justin gave an answer as he dipped his feet into the pool, landing his butt on the dried edge of the pool.
“Why? I thought this thing is something you’ve always dreamed of. I mean, you love singing,” April said convincing and at the same time agreeing with Justin’s thought. She didn’t want Justin to leave her alone in this town.
“I don’t know. Everything seems like it’s going too fast for me, you know. I don’t want to fail in the middle of getting my success,” Justin’s voice got a little softer.
April smiled and grabbed Justin by his hand. “You know, I’ve always believed in you. You’ve gone through whole lot bigger and harder things. I believe that you can go pass through this and you know, be the best.”
Justin turned to face April as his face lightened up. “I love you, you know that?”
“Yeah, I know. There’s nothing else in the world that can replace me as your best friend,” April said wrapping her left hand around Justin’s waist.
“Nothing,” Justin echoed the word nothing and placed his head upon April’s left shoulder.
The night went quiet and the water in the pool got steady. Justin and April stayed in the same place while both of their minds flew all around from one place to another. Justin was thinking more about his future ahead and April was hoping that Justin would never forget her.

Justin and his mom flew back to the US and left their family behind in Canada. April was also left there. The rest of Justin’s best buds gathered in union and wished Justin the best. Some of the girls had already cried their eyes out, including April. She was sad that Justin left, but on the other hand she was also thrilled to see a brand new Justin on TV or media.
The group went back to their houses and tried to calm themselves down. Each prayed for Justin and his mom. April continued her tears inside her room. She opened the scrapbook she made with Justin when they were six. It was filled with pictures and drawings and also abstract designs. Justin was quite an artist at drawing abstract things. He doodled a lot back then.
As April turned every page of the scrapbook, memories came rushing inside her head. Tears rolled down rapidly on her cheeks and fell on to one picture. The picture was taken on Justin’s 6th birthday. April gave him a kiss on his left cheek, while Justin was smiling wide. They were always that close up until now.
April decided to close the scrapbook because she couldn’t bear to lose anymore tears. She placed the scrapbook somewhere under her bed. As she laid herself on the bed, she thought about Justin.
“I hope you haven’t changed when you get back, Justin,” whispered April before closing her eyes. She forced herself to fall asleep.
